Uganda international Farouk Miya is keen to make a name for himself in the Turkish Super Lig.
The attacking midfielder has hit the back of the net five times in 19 league games this season
However, the competition has been halted due to the coronavirus outbreak.
“Other leagues are good but I didn’t get the kind of opportunity to express myself well to the world,” Miya said on Daily Monitor.
“I have been working harder and being able to feature well in the Turkish league is because of persistence and believing always in myself.”
Miya has been nursing a muscle strain and he has provided an update on his injuy.
“The injury is not very serious but I had to go through for better results. I am doing well in my rehabilitation and in two weeks I can play games,” he added.
Miya is pleased to have emulated his compatriots Majid Musisi and Hassan Wasswa, who also played in Turkey.
“Yes Majid is well known, he is the first Ugandan to play in Turkey and scored a lot of goals,” Miya he added.
Striker Musisi, who died in December 2005, played for Turkish clubs Bursaspor and Çanakkale Dardanelspori.
While defensive midfielder Wasswa turned out for Karabükspor, Altay and Kayseri Erciyesspor in Turkey.
