Senegal international Keita Balde has revealed that he ‘owes everything’ in his football career to FC Barcelona.
The versatile attacker was nurured in the Spanish champions’ La Masia academy, before leaving the club for Italian side Lazio in 2011 as a teenager.
Balde, who is currently on the books of French Ligue 1 side AS Monaco, said that he is open to returning to Spain where he was born.
“Let’s see what happens. I would love to play in Spain on a professional level,” said Balde on Wiw Sport.
“Sooner or later, I would like to go back. Which team? I don’t have a permanent team but I’m a bit sassy.
“I have very good memories [of La Masia], I started there when I was nine-years-old and these were decisive years of my life, what I have today, I owe everything to La Masia and Barça.”
Balde spent last season with Italian giants Inter Milan on loan from Monaco and he scored five goals in 24 Serie A games.
The skillful player is now enjoying his football at Monaco having netted four goals in 21 Ligue 1 matches.
“This is my second year, with Roberto Moreno [Monaco coach] we have regained stability. We have a good team, it’s a good club,” Balde said.
