Besiktas are reportedly interested in signing Ghana international Afriyie Acquah.
According to GhanaWeb, the Turkish Super Lig giants have opened talks with rivals Yeni Malatyaspor and hope to get a deal over the line ahead of the 2020/21 season.
Acquah joined Malatyaspor on a free transfer from Empoli in August 2019, having spent most of his 10 year professional career in Italy where he rose through the ranks of Palermo after leaving Ghana as a teenager.
The 28-year-old has played for several clubs in Italy including Palermo, Parma, Sampdoria, Torino and Empoli, having also been on the books of German Bundesliga club Hoffenheim who he never actually played a competitive game for.
The Black Stars midfielder has hardly put a foot wrong in Turkey this season and has impressed in his 21 league appearances despite Malatyaspor’s struggles. Malatyaspor currently occupy 15th place on the log standings, a place above the relegation zone.
Acquah has made 33 appearances for Ghana since making his debut eight years ago.
