Head coach of Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko, Maxwell Konadu, says he is missing football dearly following the suspension of all activities due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The domestic Premier League and all other competitions in the West African country have been halted by the Ghana Football Association as part of measures to slow the spread of Covid-19, with the nation observing a ban on all public gatherings and a partial lockdown in certain areas.

Konadu, whose side were placed third on the league log when the competition was suspended, is itching for football to return.

“I seriously miss the players, those fond memories of when we go for training and we engage in playful acts before sessions begin,” he told Asante Kotoko’s YouTube page, as quoted by Football Ghana.

“Honestly, I miss football, I miss Ghana Football in particular and the players we work with, but I know it won’t be long we shall meet again to continue our work.”

There is no indication yet as to when and how football will resume in Ghana, with the Premier League just shy of the halfway point of the scheduled 2019-20 season.
