Andre Onana has hinted that he could be on his way out of Ajax Amsterdam in coming months.
The Cameroon international has been heavily linked with a move away from the Dutch giants in recent weeks and following the announcement that the Eredivisie season has been deemed null and void, Onana could’ve already played his final game for the club.
Onana came through the ranks at Barcelona where he played for the club’s Under-19’s before moving to Amsterdam in 2015 and reports suggest he could well be on his way back to the Spanish giants.
The 24-year-old, who has kept 74 clean sheets in 178 appearances for Ajax Amsterdam, has revealed that he was ready “to take a step” amid rumours linking him with a move back to the Camp Nou.
“Don’t get me wrong, I am very happy with Ajax and I am very grateful to the club,” Onana told AD on Tuesday as reported by Goal.com.
“It was five great years here, but now my time has come to take a step. We made that appointment last year.
“I don’t yet know what will happen, but my ambitions and agreements are clear,” he concluded..
Premier League rivals Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are also said to be in the running for Onana’s signature.
