England and Manchester United star Luke Shaw has picked Victor Moses as the toughest opponent he had played against.
This is despite the left-back having faced world-class attackers like Lionel Messi, Gareth Bale and Eden Hazard.
Shaw was recalling a game in which he faced Moses as a 17-year-old while playing for Southampton against Chelsea.
The experienced defender, who joined United from Southampton in 2014, explained that it was difficult for him to stop Moses.
“People always think I’m joking, but one of my hardest games ever was against Victor Moses when I was coming in as a 17-year-old at Southampton,” Shaw told United’s official website.
“Maybe because I was so young. He was really quick, direct, strong and that was a challenge for me.
Shaw faced former Tottenham Hotspur winger Bale and ex-Chelsea attacker Hazard in the English Premier League and FC Barcelona captain Messi in the UEFA Champions League.
“I’ve played against the likes of Gareth Bale, Messi and Hazard, and they were all so good,” the 24-year-old added.
“But I always remember Victor Moses as a really tough opponent as well.”
Moses, who plays as a winger on either flank for Italian club Inter Milan, is currently on loan from English giants Chelsea.
