Ghana international Kevin-Prince Boateng has revealed his greatest managers and he overlooked Ernesto Valverde.
The Besiktas attacker named Jurgen Klopp, Massimiliano Allegri, Quique Setien and Roberto De Zerbi as his greatest managers.
Boateng overlooked Ernesto Valverde, who gave him a chance to play for Spanish giants FC Barcelona last season and he won the La Liga title.
“The hottest and funniest was Klopp. He’s just a great guy who makes you laugh out of the field,” Boateng told Sport 1.
“He is also an outstanding trainer. Klopp is the one who has everything. I celebrate him because he is emotional and doesn’t hide it. He’s like a fan on the pitch. I love that. But I was lucky because I often had the right coach.
“Whether Allegri, with whom I learned tactics and defense, Setien, who showed me a lot in football with the Tiki-Taka,” the 33-year-old, who is on loan at Turkish giants Besiktas from Italian club Fiorentina, continued.
“One of the best coaches I’ve ever had was Roberto De Zerbi in Sassuolo. He has incredible vision and he gave me the freedom I needed. He would say, ‘Please don’t get a red card. If your temper comes up, pick it down and just play soccer’.”
Current Barcelona manager Setien coached Boateng at Las Palmas, while De Zerbi worked with the experienced player at Sassuolo.
Boateng worked with Klopp and Allegri at Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan respectively.
