Senegal’s 2002 World Cup campaign is one of the most memorable by an African side, with the Teranga Lions getting as far as the quarterfinals before they were eliminated by Turkey.
Bruno Metsu’s side famously defeated reigning champions France 1-0 in the opening match of the tournament, held Denmark and Senegal to thrilling draws and then ousted Sweden in the round of 16, with a Golden Goal from Henri Camara.
