Mamelodi Sundowns have reportedly made an official transfer bid for Hassania Agadir forward Karim El Berkaoui.
According to Maghrib Foot as reported by KickOff.com, several clubs, including the Brazilians, have expressed interest in signing the Moroccan marksman.
It is reported that the South African side have launched an initial $1-million (R18m) bid in an attempt to land the services of the 24-year-old.
Karim El Berkaoui, who has also attracted interest from across North Africa and the Gulf region, is the leading scorer in the CAF Confederation Cup this season.
He has netted eight goals in just 11 games, with Hassania set to face Botola Pro rivals RS Berkane in the semifinals of Africa’s second tier continental competition once football resumes.
El Berkaoui has also scored eight times in 16 league games this season and currently sits in third spot in the race for the golden boot award.
Sundowns are set to make several signings in coming weeks as they continue their push for a second CAF Champions League crown under head coach Pitso Mosimane.
