Algeria international Riyad Mahrez believes Phil Foden has the makings of a star for both club and country.
Foden, 20, grabbed a brace during Manchester City’s 5-0 triumph over Burnley in an English Premer League match on Monday night.
The England under-21 international also help create two more goals in a Man of the Match display.
Mahrez also produced an impressive two-goal performance as the Citizens recorded their second successive win in the league.
The 29-year-old winger hailed the youngster’s contribution and added that he has high hopes for the budding England starlet.
“Since I arrived, Phil has improved a lot. He’s been training with us and he’s still young. He’s been improving a lot,” Mahrez told the club’s official website.
“He has a lot of quality and he needs to keep going in a good way to improve more and more.”
“He has a lot of time to improve and be a top player in this Club and the country.”
Mahrez and Foden will be looking to inspire City to a victory over Chelsea in a league clash on Thursday.
