Algeria international Said Benrahma continued his impressive goalscoring form in the English Championship on Saturday.
The 24-year-old forward netted a hat-trick for Brentford as they secured a 3-0 victory over Wigan Athletic in an encounter at Griffin Park.
The three goals took his tally to 14 goals in the Championship this season as he looks to help Brentford secure promotion to the English Premier League.
It was Benrahma’s third hat-trick since the start of the 2018/19 campaign and only Manchester City marksman Sergio Aguero has scored more hat-tricks than the North African star in England’s top four tiers in this period.
Argentine superstar Sergio Aguero, who is currently out nursing an injury, has recorded four hat-tricks in the Premier League since the start of last season according to Opta Joe.
“5/3 – Brentford have won 5 consecutive games in England’s top four tiers without conceding a goal for the first time in their history, while only Sergio Agüero (4) has scored more hat-tricks in England’s top four tiers than Saïd Benrahma since the start of last season (3). Chase,” a tweet read.
The former Nice OGC forward’s exploits have reportedly attracted interest from English giants Chelsea and Arsenal.
Benrahma was born in Aïn Témouchent, Algeria and he moved to Toulouse, France with his parents at the age of 11 and holds a French passport.
He has three caps for the Algeria senior national team.
