Egypt international Mahmoud Ahmed Hassan, commonly known as Trézéguet, scored both goals as Aston Villa claimed what could prove to be a very crucial win in their bid for English Premier League survival.
A 2-0 victory over Crystal Palace on Sunday ended a 10-game winless run and kept their slim hopes of survival alive.
Villa remain four points from safety with three rounds of fixtures remaining. A trip to Everton will be followed by a home match against a struggling Arsenal side before what could be a defining clash against West Ham United in London, on the final day of the league season.
The brace was Trézéguet’s first goals for the club since December and takes the 25-year-old up to six goals in 38 appearances across all competitions this season.
