The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) will not beg Arsenal starlet Bukayo Saka to play for the Super Eagles.
This is according to the NFF president Amaju Pinnick, who made it clear that the country is blessed with talents.
The 18-year-old defender-cum-midfielder was born in Ealing, London, England and he is of Nigerian descent.
Saka has impressed this season having netted four goals and registered 11 assists in 37 appearances across all competitions.
Pinnick explained that they will not beg Saka or any player to represent the three-time African champions.
“Saka is an excellent prospect but we have other players in his position who are playing so well,” Pinnick said on Complete Sports.
“We have talents everywhere so we won’t beg people to play for Nigeria.
“It is about ardour and fervour, If it’s their desire and they merit it, they’ll be given a chance to represent Nigeria.”
Saka has represented England at under-16, under-17, under-18 and under-19 levels.
He was nurtured in the Arsenal academy.
