Saïd Benrahma looks destined to play English Premier League football next season no matter if Brentford gain promotion or not.
The Bees are set to face Swansea over two playoff legs after finishing third in the English Championship with the winner to take on either Fulham or Cardiff City at Wembley Stadium, for a place in the Premier League.
Benrahma has been one of the standout players through the course of the 2019/20 season. The Algeria international scored 17 goals and assisted a further nine in 43 matches as Brentford fell agonizingly short of automatic promotion to England’s top-flight.
His brilliant run of form has not gone unnoticed with both Arsenal and Chelsea linked with his services in recent weeks.
Asked about the rumours linking him with a move to either of the London giants, he told the Metro as reported by the Mirror: “I was really flattered.
“But, at the same time, I am so focused about getting out of the Championship with Brentford that I do not pay too much attention. But it gives me confidence.
“It has always been a target of mine to play in the Premier League and I really wish to play in the Premier League with Brentford.
“It would be magnificent for Brentford because it would be the first time and we have really been working hard on it,” he concluded.
