Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang fell agonisingly short of winning a second successive English Premier League golden boot on Sunday.
The Gabon international scored a brace in a 3-2 win over Watford at Emirates Stadium for 22 goals in 36 matches, one less than Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy.
Aubameyang, 31, continues to be linked with a move away from the North London club having already entered the final 12 months of his contract, but Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta remains confident of keeping hold of his club captain and star striker.
In total, Aubameyang has now scored 68 goals in 108 games for the Gunners since joining the club from Borussia Dortmund in January 2018.
