Egyptian star Mohamed Salah has shared a farewell message to his close friend Dejan Lovren.
Croatian central defender Lovren has left Engish giants Liverpool FC to join reigning Russian champions Zenit St. Petersburg.
The pair have struck up a lasting friendship since Salah signed for Liverpool in 2017 and they became teammates at the club.
“I don’t know how to say, my friend. You don’t know my feeling right now. We’re really going to miss you a lot, especially me,” said Salah on the club’s official website.
“You’ve been an unbelievable player and a great friend for me. We’re going to miss you a lot. I miss you a lot, I love you so much.
“You’ve been fantastic outside the field and inside the field.
Lovren spent six years with the Reds and he has decided to leave the club after falling out of favour under manager Jurgen Klopp.
“So, thank you for everything you did for the club, thank you for everything you did for me,” the former AS Roma winger continued.
“I wish you all the best in the future and I wish you to have a great career as well, enjoying the new club with your family.
“Thank you very much and see you soon.”
Salah and Lovren helped end the club’s 30 year league title drought by winning the 2019/20 Premier League trophy.
They also helped the Reds clinch the 2018/19 UEFA Champions League title.
