Mamelodi Sundowns have announced that Sibusiso Vilakazi has committed his long term future to the club.
The 30-year-old has extended his Chloorkop stay by another four years and will be contracted to the Brazilians until 2024. He joined the current Absa Premiership champions from league rivals Bidvest Wits in 2016.
Vilakazi has featured over 100 times for Sundowns and has been specifically impressive this season. In total, he has directly contributed to 21 goals in 32 matches across all competitions in the 2019/20 campaign.
“I am honoured, I am humbled and I am excited to be given another opportunity to play for this great team. I would like to thank the President (Dr. Patrice Motsepe), the board for trusting and having faith in me and also my coach (Pitso Mosimane), the technical team, my teammates for playing a part as well in me given this opportunity,” Vilakazi said as quoted by the club’s official website. https://sundownsfc.co.za/villakazi-on-his-new-deal-and-winning-trophies/
The Bafana Bafana international joins a growing list of players that have committed their futures to the club in recent weeks, following news that Mosimane has also extended his stay at the club. Earlier this week Ricardo Nascimento followed teammates Thapelo Morena and Gaston Sirino in signing a new deal.
