DR Congo international Neeskens Kebano has signed a new deal at his English club Fulham FC.

This comes after the attacking midfielder played an instrumental role in helping the Cottagers secure promotion from the Championship to the Premier League this week.

Kebano helped Fulham beat Brentford FC 2-1 in the playoff final on Tuesday night and he has now signed a deal which will keep him at the club until June 2021, but there is an option to extend by a further year.

Prior to that, the former Paris Saint Germain (PSG) player had netted in five goals in four successive matches including the two play-off semi-final games against Cardiff City.

“First of all, I’d like to thank the Club for giving me this opportunity to extend my contract,” Kebano said on the club’s official website.

“It has been a long journey since we started the season, we have been playing for over a year. We’ve been working very hard which has paid off with promotion to the Premier League.

The 28-year-old player hit the back of the net five times in 19 appearances for Fulham during the 2019/20 season.

“I’m delighted for the team, the staff and the supporters, we’ve remained together which has brought us to where we are now,” he added.

“I have a lot of affection for this club, for the fans, so it’s natural this decision to sign a contract when this opportunity was offered to me, and I’m very happy to be here for a couple of more seasons.”

Kebano was born in France to parents of Congolese descent and he represented the European country at under-17, under-18, under-19 and under-20 levels.

He began playing for Congo in 2014 and he has since played 19 international matches and scored five goals in the process.
