Ghana international Mohammed Kudus is a bit like legendary Dutch midfielder Clarence Seedorf.
This is according to former Ajax Amsterdam scout John Steen Olsen, who is a big fan of the 20-year-old starlet.
Kudus signed for Dutch football heavyweights giants Ajax from Danish club FC Nordsjalland for €9 million, on a five-year contract late last month.
The midfielder-cum-striker excelled at Nordsjalland where netted 14 goals in 51 Superliga matches for Nordsjalland.
“[Kudus was] one of the best talents in Denmark. He is a boy with so much quality,” Steen Olsen said on Ghana Web.
“Technically very good, and very fast. I have often seen him at work with Henk Veldmate [chief scout of Ajax]. He is also very enthusiastic.
“Kudus can play in all positions in midfield anyway, but in the front, he can also play in the striker or on the right.”
Steen Olsen then compared Kudus with former Cameroon head coach Seedorf, who is one of the most decorated Dutch players ever, and has won domestic and continental titles while playing for clubs in the Netherlands, Spain, Italy and Brazil.
The Ajax legend is considered one of the most successful players in UEFA Champions League history, as he is the first, and currently the only, player to have won the Champions League with three clubs
“That makes him so interesting. He looks a bit like a young Clarence Seedorf, although I don’t like comparing players with other players,” he added.
“Kudus is ultimately just Kudus. These kinds of amounts are normal nowadays. There was also a lot of interest in Kudus.”
Kudus has played two international matches for Ghana and netted once in the process.
