Ghana international Samuel Tetteh has completed a loan move to Major League Soccer (MLS) side New York Red Bulls.
Tetteh has joined the MLS club on loan for the remainder of the 2020 season from Austrian giants Red Bull Salzburg. New York will have an option of a permanent deal at the end of Tetteh’s loan spell.
The 24-year-old moved to Austria in 2016 where he joined FC Liefering before completing a move to Salzburg a year later. He has spent the last two-and-a-half seasons on loan at fellow Austrian side LASK Linz where he scored 19 goals in 86 appearances.
“I am excited to be joining the New York Red Bulls,” said Tetteh as quoted by the club’s official website.
“I am looking forward to meeting my new teammates and the fans and hopefully we can achieve great things together.”
The MLS season is set to resume later this month with the Portland Timbers having claimed the MLS Is Back tournament title with victory over Orlando City in Tuesday’s final.
