Chippa United will target a three-point haul in the Absa Premiership when they host Cape Town City at Orlando Stadium on Friday 14 August 2020, kick-off at 15h30.

Chippa have taken four points from their last two matches, with their latest outing a 0-0 draw away to Bidvest Wits in Johannesburg on March 7. The Chilli Boys have claimed 15 points from 12 home matches so far this season.

City claimed a third win from their last five league matches when they defeated Bloemfontein Celtic 2-0 at home on March 8, courtesy of goals from Thabo Nodada and Bradley Ralani. The Citizens have claimed just six points from 11 away matches in the 2019/20 campaign.

In head-to-head stats, City and Chippa have met in seven league matches since the 2016/17 season. The Citizens have claimed four wins compared to two for the Chilli Boys, while just one game has been drawn. The Eastern Cape side has recorded one win and two defeats from their three home matches in the rivalry.

When the teams met earlier this season, at the Athlone Stadium in December 2019, Chippa claimed a 1-0 win (their first away from home against City) thanks to a first-half strike from Augustine Kwem.

Chippa’s line-up from their 0-0 draw with Wits on March 7: Mothwa, Modisane, Nsabiyumva, K. Moyo, Maphanga (Rakhale 32’), Twala, Komane, Malepe, Sekotlong (Damons 78’), Maholo (Masalesa 64’), Gamildien.

City’s line-up from their 2-0 win over Celtic on March 8: Leeuwenburgh; Dove, David (Mobara 79′), Ralani (Morris 90+3′), Fielies, Cupido, Roberts, Lakay, Nodada, Mdantsane (Makola 68′), Martin.
