SuperSport United will go in search of a third straight win in the Absa Premiership when they host Bloemfontein Celtic at Bidvest Stadium on Sunday 16 August 2020, kick-off at 18h00.

SuperSport racked up a second successive victory when they defeated Highlands Park 2-0 away from home on March 8, thanks to goals from Aubrey Modiba and Bradley Grobler. Matsatsantsa have claimed 23 points from 12 home matches so far this season.

Celtic suffered a third loss from their last four league matches when they were beaten 2-0 at Cape Town City on March 8. Phunya Sele Sele have claimed just nine points from 12 away matches in the 2019/20 campaign.

In head-to-head stats, Celtic and SuperSport have met in 52 league matches since 1990. Matsatsantsa have claimed 13 wins compared to 11 for Phunya Sele Sele, while no less than 28 games have been drawn. The Tshwane team has recorded nine wins and suffered five defeats in 25 matches as hosts in the rivalry.

When the teams met earlier this season, at Dr Molemela Stadium in October 2019, they played out a 1-1 draw in which Aubrey Modiba gave SuperSport the lead, before Celtic hit back through Sera Motebang. Matsatsantsa are unbeaten in their last nine league games against Phunya Sele Sele.
