Orlando Pirates will be desperate to end their goalless run in the Absa Premiership when they host Baroka FC at Ellis Park on Tuesday 18 August 2020, kick-off at 18h00.

Pirates recorded a fourth straight league match without scoring when they were held 0-0 at home by Bidvest Wits on August 15. The Buccaneers have claimed 25 points from 12 home matches in the 2019/20 season.

Baroka come into the clash on the back of a 0-0 draw away to AmaZulu on August 15, their first league stalemate of the year 2020. Bakgaga have claimed 11 points from 12 away matches in the 2019-20 campaign.

In head-to-head stats, Baroka and Pirates have met in seven league matches since 2016/17. The Buccaneers boast an unbeaten record, with two wins and five draws in the sequence. The Soweto side has recorded one win and two draws from their three home matches in the rivalry.

When the teams met earlier this season, at Peter Mokaba Stadium in December 2019, they played out a 2-2 draw: Pirates led 2-0 thanks to goals from Linda Mntambo and Kabelo Dlamini, but Baroka fought back late on through an own goal from Happy Jele and a strike from Gerald Phiri Jr.

Pirates’ line-up from their 0-0 draw with Wits on August 15: Sandilands, Mako, Maela, Jele, Nyauza, Mlambo (Dlamini 54′), Motshwari, Makaringe (Mntambo 65′), Memela (Zungu 65′), Pule (Monyane 86′), Mhango.

Baroka’s line-up from their 0-0 draw with AmaZulu on August 15: Chipezeze, Farmer, Sampson, Mahangwahaya (Mbulu 46′), Makume, Makgopa (Kambala 86′), Mosele, Sibiya, Nguse (Masiya 46′), Phiri Jr (Mgaga 86′), Mogale (Selemela 74′).
