Bidvest Wits will chase their first win since the restart when they host Golden Arrows for an Absa Premiership match at FNB Stadium on Tuesday 18 August 2020, kick-off at 15h30.
Wits recorded a second successive draw (and a third in their last four league matches) when they held Orlando Pirates 0-0 away from home on August 15. The Clever Boys have claimed 18 points from 11 home matches thus far in the league campaign.
Arrows suffered an eighth defeat of the season when they were beaten 1-0 at Stellenbosch on August 15, extending their winless run in the league to three matches. Abafana Bes’thende have taken just 10 points from 12 away games in the 2019/20 season.
In head-to-head stats, Wits and Arrows have met in 33 league matches since 2001/02. The Johannesburg side has claimed 20 wins compared to five for their Durban counterparts, while eight matches have been drawn. The Clever Boys have won have won 10 of their 16 home matches in the rivalry, suffering just two defeats in the process.
When the teams met earlier this season, at the Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium in December 2019, Wits claimed a 1-0 away win thanks to a first-half goal from Gift Motupa. The Clever Boys are unbeaten in their last four league clashes with Abafana Bes’thende.
