The Lions of the North have claimed three wins compared to one for the Chilli Boys, while one game has been drawn. The Eastern Cape side has recorded one win and one draw from their two home matches in the rivalry.

When the teams met earlier this season, at Makhulong Stadium in October 2019, Highlands claimed a 2-0 home win thanks to goals from Spiwe Msimango and Tendai Ndoro. The Lions of the North are unbeaten in their last four matches against the Chilli Boys.
