Baroka FC will chase a key win in the Absa Premiership when they host Chippa United at the Bidvest Stadium on Saturday 22 August 2020, kick-off at 18h00.

Baroka played to a second successive draw since the restart when they held Orlando Pirates 1-1 away from home, with Evidence Makgopa netting the equalising goal. Bakgaga have claimed 13 points from as many home matches so far this season.

Chippa saw their winless run in the league extended to three matches with a 0-0 draw at home to Highlands Park on August 18. The Chilli Boys have claimed 11 points from 12 away matches in the 2019/20 campaign.

In head-to-head stats, Chippa and Baroka have met in seven league matches since 2016/17. The Chilli Boys have claimed three wins compared to one for Bakgaga, while three games have been drawn. The Limpopo side has yet to win at home in the rivalry, with two draws and one loss from three matches as hosts.

When the teams met earlier this season, at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in December 2019, they played to a goalless stalemate. The last four meetings of these teams have produced just three goals.

Baroka’s line-up from their 1-1 draw with Pirates on August 18: Chipezeze, Masiya, Sampson, Mgaga, Makume, Makgopa, Mosele, Sibiya, Kambala (Madondo 67′), Phiri (Mbulu 80′), Ngubane.

Chippa’s line-up from their 0-0 draw with Highlands on August 18: Mothwa, Damons, Masalesa, Malepe, Maphangule (Lentjies 64′), Thopola, Nsabiyumva, Mahola (Sibeko 64′), Maphanga (Lebitso 46′, Komane 90’+2), Gamildien (Sekotlong 86′), Kwem.
