Mamelodi Sundowns will look to break a four-game winless streak in the Absa Premiership when they host Golden Arrows at Dobsonville Stadium on Monday 24 August 2020, kick-off at 18h00.

Sundowns played to a third draw from their last four matches when they were held 2-2 at Maritzburg United on August 21, with goals from Hlompho Kekana and Ricardo Nascimento. The Brazilians have claimed 27 points from 12 home matches so far this season.

Arrows themselves have gone five matches without a win, with their last result a 2-1 loss at home to relegation-threatened Black Leopards on August 21. Abafana Bes’thende have claimed just 11 points from 13 away matches in the 2019/20 campaign.

In head-to-head stats, Arrows and Sundowns have met in 37 league matches since 2000/01. The Brazilians have claimed 19 wins compared to 10 for Abafana Bes’thende, while eight matches have been drawn. The Tshwane side has won 10 of their 18 home matches against their Durban counterparts, suffering just two defeats in the process.

When the teams met earlier this season, at Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium in November 2019, Arrows claimed a 3-2 home win thanks to goals from Danny Phiri and Knox Mutizwa (two). The result broke a six-game winning streak for the Brazilians in this rivalry.

Sundowns’ line-up from their 2-2 draw with Maritzburg on August 21: Onyango, Ngcongca, Lakay, Nascimento, Madisha, Jali, Mkhulise (Zwane 90′), Kekana (Mabunda 90′), Sirino (Lebusa 75′), Mkhuma (Zwane 90′), Meza (Makgalwa 87′).

Arrows’ line-up from their 2-1 loss to Leopards on August 21: Sibanda (Mbaeva 51′), Sibisi (Shitolo 64′), Mathiane, Makhubela, S. Dube (Conco 90′), Phiri, Lunga, L. Dube (Parusnath 90′), Mutizwa, Gumede, Mtshali (Lamola 51′).
