AmaZulu and Black Leopards will meet for an Absa Premiership six-pointer at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday 29 August 2020, kick-off at 15h30.
AmaZulu extended their winless run in the league to three matches, all since the restart, with a 2-2 draw at home to Bloemfontein Celtic on August 24. Usuthu have claimed 13 points from as many home matches so far this season.
Leopards suffered their first loss since the restart when they were defeated 1-0 at home by SuperSport United on August 25, a result which left them just a point clear of the relegation playoff berth. Lidoda Duvha have claimed just eight points from 13 games on the road in the 2019/20 campaign.
In head-to-head stats, Leopards and AmaZulu have met in 15 top-flight league matches since 2001/02. Both Usuthu and Lidoda Duvha have claimed six wins each, while three games have been drawn. The Durban side has claimed four wins from seven matches as hosts in the rivalry, suffering two defeats in the process.
When the teams met earlier this season, at Thohoyandou Stadium in December 2019, they played out a goalless draw. AmaZulu’s last top-flight league win over Leopards was recorded back in May 2013.
AmaZulu’s line-up from their 2-2 draw with Celtic on August 24: Mbatha, Gumede, Sikhakhane, Mabiliso, Khumalo, Sithebe (Hlalele 84′), Ncube, Ncobeni (Chawapiwa 57′), Magubane (Maduna 84′), Majoro, Ntuli (De Jong 69′).
