SuperSport United will look to bounce back from their weekend defeat when they host Baroka FC in the penultimate round of the Absa Premiership, set for the Bidvest Stadium on Wednesday 2 September 2020, kick-off at 18h00.
SuperSport suffered their first loss since the league’s restart when they went down 2-1 away to Orlando Pirates on August 29. Matsatsantsa have claimed 27 points from 14 home matches so far this season.
Baroka boosted their survival hopes with a 1-0 away win over title hopefuls Mamelodi Sundowns on August 30, with Ananias Gebhardt scoring the only goal. Bakgaga have claimed 15 points from 14 away matches in the 2019/20 campaign.
In head-to-head stats, Baroka and SuperSport have met in seven league matches since the 2016/17 season. Bakgaga have claimed three wins compared to two for Matsatsantsa, while two games have been drawn. The Tshwane side has recorded one win and two defeats from three matches as hosts in the rivalry.
When the teams met earlier this season, at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in August 2019, United claimed a 2-0 away win thanks to goals from Bradley Grobler and Jamie Webber.
