Baroka FC and Kaizer Chiefs will meet for a match which would decide both the title and the relegation picture in the Absa Premiership, set for the Bidvest Stadium on Saturday 5 September 2020, kick-off at 15h30.

Baroka find themselves in the relegation playoff spot, one point from safety, after they succumbed to a 4-1 loss away to SuperSport United on September 2. Bakgaga, who are three points clear of the bottom of the log, have claimed 13 points from 14 home matches so far this season.

Chiefs kept on track to win the title with a 1-0 victory at home to Chippa United on September 2, thanks to an early goal from Khama Billiat. The Amakhosi, who have claimed 29 points from 14 away games in 2019/20, need only match the result of rivals Mamelodi Sundowns to be crowned champions.

In head-to-head stats, Baroka and Chiefs have met in seven league matches since 2016/17. The teams have a dead even record, with two wins apiece, three draws and seven goals scored against each other. The Limpopo side has yet to win at home against their Soweto rivals, recording two draws and one defeat from three turns as hosts.

When the teams met earlier this season, at FNB Stadium in September 2019, Chiefs claimed a 1-0 home win thanks to a goal from Lebogang Manyama. It was the Amakhosi’s first victory against Bakgaga as hosts.

Baroka’s line-up from their 4-1 loss to SuperSport on September 2: Dlamini, Gebhardt, Sibiya, Farmer, Makume, Mosele, Kambala, Masiya, Patjie, Mgaga, Makgopa.

Chiefs’ line-up from their 1-0 win over Chippa on September 2: Khune, Moleko (Mphahlele 55’), Mathoho (Ngezana 75’), Cardoso, Sasman, Frosler (Zulu 90+5’), Katsande, Manyama (Akumu 75’), Parker, Billiat (Kambole 90+5’), Nurkovic.
