AmaZulu will be looking to seal Absa Premiership survival when they host Highlands Park at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday 5 September 2020, kick-off at 15h30.
AmaZulu extended their unbeaten run to three matches, and moved a point clear of the relegation playoff berth, when they drew 1-1 at Stellenbosch on September 2. Usuthu have claimed 16 points from 14 home matches so far this season.
Highlands moved back into the top eight with a 1-0 win at home to Cape Town City on September 2, with Peter Shalulile scoring to keep up his hopes of claiming the Golden Boot. The Lions of the North have claimed 11 points from 14 away matches in the 2019/20 campaign.
In head-to-head stats, Highlands and AmaZulu have met in just three previous top-flight matches. The record is dead even between the teams, with one win apiece, plus one draw, while each has scored three goals against the other. Usuthu’s only previous home match against Highlands produced a 0-0 draw in the 2018/19 season.
When the teams met earlier this season, at Makhulong Stadium in August 2019, Highlands claimed a 2-1 home win thanks to goals from Tendai Ndoro and Peter Shalulile.
AmaZulu’s line-up from their 1-1 draw with Stellenbosch on September 2: Mbatha, M. Gumede, Xoki, Booysen, Mabiliso, Maduna, Sithebe, Ncube, Magubane; Majoro (Lacny 88′), Ntuli (Darpoh 71′).
Highlands’ line-up from their 1-0 win over CT City on September 2: Kapini, Munyai, Fransman, Mzava, Mbhele, Motlafi (Mokoena 69’), Nyatama, Makhaula, Rae, Mbatha (Ramagalela 46’), Shalulile.
