Ivory Coast international Roger Assale has completed a move to Dijon on a four-year deal.
The French Ligue 1 club confirmed the news on their official website on Saturday.
Dijon, who finished the 2019/20 French Ligue 1 season in 16th place, reportedly paid Swiss club BSC Young Boys around €4 million for the former Sewe Sport and TP Mazembe forward.
Assale scored 44 goals in 129 appearances for Young Boys where he won three league titles and one Swiss Cup crown. The 26-year-old spent the second half of last season on-loan at Spanish club Leganes and scored two goals in the club’s last two games but couldn’t keep them from suffering relegation.
“The most important thing is to feel that a club really wants to sign you. That was the case. I want to take the next step with this club by being part of one of the top five leagues in the world,” Assale is quoted as saying.
“A new challenge awaits me, I am going to give the best of myself to contribute to the growth of the team and the club. I am very happy, honoured and motivated to wear the Dijon shirt.”
Assale was part of the Ivory Coast team that won the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.
