Ramadan Sobhi has completed a shock move to Pyramids FC.
The Egypt international has joined the club on a five-year deal after turning down offers from Al Ahly, Zamalek and several European clubs in favour of the big spending club.
Sobhi spent the last two seasons on-loan at Al Ahly where he came through the ranks and emerged as one of the top youth talents on the African continent.
He earned a move to Stoke City in 2016 but left the club after three goals in 46 appearances across all competitions. Sobhi duly joined Huddersfield Town, but was loaned out to Al Ahly after struggling to break into the team.
The 23-year-old was largely tipped to complete a permanent move to his boyhood club but last month news broke that he had told club officials about his desire to join Egyptian Premier League rivals Pyramids instead.
He will link up with former Al Ahly teammates Abdullah El-Said and John Antwi at the club as Pyramids continue their quest to break the Red Devils stranglehold on Egypt’s top-flight and establish themselves as an African powerhouse.
