Nigeria international Oghenekaro Etebo is ecstatic after completing his transfer to Turkish football powerhouse Galatasaray.
The central midfielder has joined the Lions on a season-long loan deal from English Championship club Stoke City.
Etebo spent the second round of the 2019/20 season on loan at Spanish La Liga side Getafe.
The Lions announced the arrival of the 24-year-old diminutive player on their official website:
“Galatasaray Sportif AS informed the public that an agreement was reached for the loan transfer of professional football player Oghenekaro Etebo until the end of the season.”
“We welcome Oghenekaro Etebo to our club and wish him a successful season in the Galatasaray jersey,” a club statement read.
Etebo, who has netted once in 35 international matches for Nigeria, took to his official Twitter page to express his delight after joining Galatasaray.
“I am excited to announce my arrival at Galatasaray, I am looking forward to this amazing opportunity and I am happy to be part of such a historic club.”
“Thank you to everyone at Stoke City and thank you to DW sports management team,” Etebo said on Twitter.
