Ivory Coast international Wilfried Zaha is still hoping to leave English club Crystal Palace according to Roy Hodgson.
The 27-year-old winger’s solitary goal earned Palace a 1-0 win over Southampton FC on the opening day of the 2020/21 Premier League season on Saturday afternoon.
Zaha was heavily linked with English giants Arsenal last season, but a move to the London giants failed to materialize.
Hodgson, who is an experienced manager, wants to ensure that Zaha continues to star for Palace for an extended period of time.
“Wilf [Zaha] showed a lot of composure to take the chance,” Hodgson said on Goal.
“He made it look easy. “He thinks it would be nice if some club came in and paid the market price. Let’s see what transpires, for me hopefully nothing.
“I think he still hopes a big club comes in and takes him from us.”
Zaha, who is one of the top wingers in the Premier League, has netted 40 goals in 220 matches in the competitions for Palace.
He has netted five times from 17 international matches for Ivory Coast.
