Cameroonian striker Bienvenu Eva Nga could be set to follow manager Gavin Hunt to Kaizer Chiefs, if the words of his agent are anything to go by.
The attacking player is currently a free agent following the sale of Bidvest Wits to Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila, which sees a whole new club entering the Premier Soccer League (PSL) from the 2020-21 season.
Eva Nga joined the Clever Boys from Mozambican side Costa Do Sol midway through the recently concluded 2019-20 campaign and his stay in South Africa could be extended, according to his agent, Thomas Tlolane.
“Wits gave Eva Nga a three-month package until December,” Tloane told Daily Sun.
“He was one of many players the club gave packages, those who had existing contracts with the club.”
Tlolane added, ““There’s a huge possibility of Eva Nga remaining in the PSL. Since he’s here in South Africa, I’m the one who will be looking after his affairs.”
This adds further depth to speculation that Eva Nga will be one of several former Bidvest Wits players to follow Hunt to Kaizer Chiefs. The tactician was unveiled as the new Amakhosi boss earlier this week, succeeding Ernst Middendorp.
Chiefs are currently banned from signing players – as punishment for their alleged illegal acquisition of Andriamirado ‘Dax’ Andrianarimanana in 2018 – though they are appealing the issue and are hopeful of overturning the FIFA punishment before the start of the new season in October.
