Black Leopards are reportedly set to announce Patrick Aussems as the club’s new head coach.
According to KickOff.com, the Belgian mentor will be announced as Lidoda Duvha’s new head coach ahead of the 2020/21 DStv Premiership season.
Aussems is set to take over the reins from joint caretaker coaches Morgan Shivambu and Mongezi Bobe who successfully steered the club to safety by means of the promotion/ relegation play-offs.
Leopards finished the 2019/20 season in 15th place following a 3-0 loss to Mamelodi Sundowns on the final day of the season, but retained their top-flight status following a run of four straight wins in the play-offs.
The Limpopo club had a total of four different head coaches during the course of last season. Frenchman Lionel Soccoia was replaced by Luc Eymael who then made way for Cavin Johnson all within the space of the first four months of the season.
Johnson was then suspended and duly fired in February with Alan Clark appointed as his successor in Thohoyandou, but he too failed to see out the season after accepting a job offer in Kosovo.
Shivambu and Bobe are set to asssit Aussems who has signed a reported three-year deal at the club.
The 55-year-old previously served as the head coach of AC Leopards and Simba on the African continent.
