Al Ahly officially announced Pitso Mosimane’s arrival on Thursday.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns head coach succeeds Rene Weiler in Cairo with the Swiss having officially parted ways with the African Club of the Century on the 1st of October.
Mosimane spent eight successful years with the Brazilians and masterminded the club’s 2016 CAF Champions League triumph. He will be expected to bring a ninth continental crown to Al Ahly with the Red Devils to face Wydad Casablanca in the semi-finals this month.
The 56-year-old is set to take charge of his first game as Al Ahly head coach on Sunday. The Egyptian Premier League champions host Al Mokawloon in Cairo.
