Morocco international Achraf Hakimi is Inter Milan’s most important acquisition of the summer transfer window according to Antonio Conte.
The full-back joined the Italian giants from Spanish champions Real Madrid following a successful two-year loan spell at German side Borussia Dortmund.
Inter have also signed big-name players such as Aleksander Kolarov from Italian side AS Roma, Alexis Sanchez on a permanent deal from English club Manchester United and Arturo Vidal from Spanish giants FC Barcelona in the current transfer window.
Hakimi played an integral role in helping Inter secure a 5-2 win at Benevento in a Serie A clash as he recorded an assist and a goal on Wednesday.
Prior to that, the 21-year-old had player provided an assist as Inter edged out Fiorentina 4-3 in a Serie A encounter last weekend.
Inter manager Conte has praise Hakimi and he hopes the promising player continues to perform well for the team.
“Hakimi is a player with great potential, he was born to make the fifth in midfield having important offensive propensities,” Conte said in a press conference according to Inter News.
“He needs to improve in defence, playing with three central players enhances his qualities.
“He is the important investment of this market, he must continue to work but he gave a good interpretation of the game. Let’s hope this continues.”
Hakimi has provided an assist in both his first two games played for Inter and the last Nerazzurri player to made an assist in the first two Serie A appearances was his compatriot Houssine Kharja in 2011.
