South Africa international Bongani Zungu has finally completed his transfer to Scottish giants Rangers from French club Amiens.

The 27-year-old midfield maestro has been on the radar of Rangers, who are under the guidance of England and Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard, for a while.

The Light Blues have now announced that they have snapped up Zungu on a season-long loan deal.

“Rangers are today delighted to announce the signing of South African internationalist Bongani Zungu on-loan until the end of the season, with the Light Blues holding an option to make the deal permanent next summer,” a club statement read.

Zungu is looking forward to playing for Rangers, who have won the Scottish League title 54 times, a domestic league joint world record.

“I really want the fans to be proud of my performances and will always give 100 per-cent for my new team,” Zungu said.

“Rangers is a global club and I know there are already many supporters across Africa. I am looking forward to playing in front of a big crowd and audiences across the world.”

Zungu has joined fellow Africans Joe Aribo and Leon Balogun at Rangers and the duo are Nigeria internationals.

He has 29 Bafana Bafana caps to his name, with five of them coming in the 2019 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) Finals.
