Sofiane Boufal has returned to SCO Angers following four years on the books of English Premier League club Southampton.
Boufal joined the Saints from LOSC Lille in 2016 after coming through the ranks at Raymond Kopa Stadium. The 27-year-old penned a four-year deal with Angers on transfer deadline day and will be hoping for a return to form amid familiar surroundings.
The Morocco international, who also endured a fruitful loan spell Celta Vigo during his time as a Saints player, showcased moments of brilliance at St.Mary’s. The most notable moment of such brilliance came in a 1-0 win over West Bromwich Albion in October 2017 which subsequently won him the English Premier League Goal of the Month award.
Moments after being introduced as a late second-half substitute Boufal embarked on a solo run from well within his half, which eventually ended in one of the great Premier League goals.
