Mamelodi Sundowns were the big winners at the 2019/20 PSL awards on Thursday.

Themba Zwane walked away with three major awards following a successful season for the Brazilians in which they won a domestic treble.

The 31-year-old was named as the 2019/20 PSL Footballer of the Season, Absa Premiership Player’s Player of the Season and Absa Premiership Midfielder of the Season.

The PSL Footballer of the Season is voted exclusively by the Premier Division coaches while the Absa Premiership Player’s Player of the Season is chosen by players. Players are not allowed to vote for their teammate.

Zwane, who directly contributed to 19 goals in 25 Premiership games last season, beat teammates Gaston Sirino, Peter Shalulile (last season of Highlands Park) and Kaizer Chiefs’ Samir Nurkovic to claim the top award on offer.
