Kaizer Chiefs and Baroka FC registered victories on match-day two of the 2020/21 DStv Premiership season on Tuesday night.

Chiefs were made to sweat for their win over Chippa United in a match which was played at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

Veli Mothwa frustrated Amakhosi with some world class goalkeeping, but he was finally beaten with 13 minutes left on the clock.

Chippa defender Gregory Damons netted an own-goal, while attempting to clear Lebogang Manyama’s effort.

The late own-goal handed Chiefs a narrow 1-0 win over Chippa in a match which was dominated by coach Gavin Hunt’s side.

Meanwhile, Baroka defeated their Limpopo rivals Black Leopards in a four-goal thriller which was played at the Thohoyandou Stadium.

Bakgaga Ba Mphahlele opened the scoring through Richard Mbulu, who made it 1-0 to the visitors just a minute into the match.

The visitors doubled their lead in the 33rd minute when Evidence Makgopa netted with header to make it 2-0 to Baroka.

Mbulu then completed his brace in the 44rd minute to make it 3-0 and it was also his third goal of the new season.

Phelelani Shozi netted an own-goal to make it 3-1 after Leopards piled pressure on the Baroka defence 15 minutes into the second-half.

However, Baroka contained Leopards in the remaining minutes of the match and ultimately, they emerged 3-1 winners on the night.
