Mamelodi Sundowns star Gaston Sirino continues to be linked with a move to Al Ahly.
According to reports, the Uruguayan could be on his way to Egypt for a reported fee of around $3 million, where he would reunite with Pitso Mosimane.
Sirino signed a new five-year deal with Sundowns in June, but like Mosimane, could well be on his way just a few months after committing his long-term future to the Brazilians.
The 29-year-old arrived in South Africa from Bolivar in January 2018 and has quickly established himself as one of the best players in the country.
Sirino has scored 24 goals and assisted a further 29 in 100 appearances for the Tshwane giants, with his most recent goal for the club coming in Sundowns’ 1-0 win over Bloemfontein Celtic in the Nedbank Cup final last season.
Victory secured a domestic treble for the Brazilians who had claimed a third league title in succession in dramatic fashion just a few weeks prior. Sirino also provided two assists in the club’s Telkom Knockout final win over Maritzburg United earlier in the season.
Al Ahly celebrated a 42nd Egyptian Premier League title last weekend and will now set their sights on a ninth Caf Champions League crown. The Red Devils booked their spot in the final with a 5-1 aggregate win over Wydad Casablanca and will face either Raja Casablanca or Zamalek in the final on the 27th of November.
