Ivorian midfielder Franck Kessie has revealed that he will take Milan’s next penalty after scoring one and missing one from two spot kicks on Sunday.
Kessie helped the Rossoneri cement top spot in Serie A with a 2-0 win over Fiorentina, netting the second goal from 12 yards out, though he later saw another spot kick turned away by Viola goalkeeper Bartlomiej Dragowski.
“I scored the first, I missed the second but I am going to take the third one,” Kessie told DAZN,as quoted by Football Italia.
“[Coach Stefano Pioli] congratulated the team, he was happy. It was a very important game,” the 23-year-old added.
“We had a great start, Fiorentina must be attacked and we scored two goals immediately. We have no starters, we have a deep team and whoever goes onto the pitch prove he deserves to play.”
Kessie was without his usual midfield partner, Algerian Ismael Bennacer, but said he had no problem playing alongside Sandro Tonali instead.
“It’s not a problem with who I play, I like to play with Bennacer, Tonali or Krunic, I gave the 150 percent and that’s what I do in every game,” the Elephants star concluded.
