Vipers SC coach Fred Kajoba insists his side still has hope in their CAF Champions League preliminary round tie despite losing the first leg at home this past weekend.
The Ugandan side were beaten 1-0 in Kitende by Sudanese heavyweights Al Hila on Saturday, with Bakhiet Hamid netting midway through the first half.
Despite the result at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kajoba insists that his side is capable of coming back in the away leg and advancing into the next phase of the continental competition.
“It is disappointing that we couldn’t get the result we wanted,” Kajoba said as quoted by the club’s official website. “We shall go back and reflect on where we didn’t do well.
“We still have the return leg next week and there’s a chance we can go there and look for a better result.”
The return game will be played in Khartoum on Sunday, December 6. The aggregate winners will advance to face either Ghana’s Asante Kotoko or Nouadhibou of Mauritania in the first round.
