Ghanaian centre-back Abraham Frimpong has reflected on playing against Cristiano Ronaldo as he prepares to face Lionel Messi.

The 27-year-old marked the Portuguese football icon during his side, Ferencvaros’ UEFA Champions League clash against Juventus last week.

Ronaldo, who is a five-time Ballon D’or winner, scored with a well-taken shot as Italian giants Juventus edged out Frimpong’s Hungarian champions 2-1 at the Allianz Stadium.

“Before the match, I thought a lot about what it would be like to play at Juventus’ home,” Frimpong said on Ghana Soccer Net.

“I had a push before the meeting, but the professional staff took the burden off our shoulders, and once the warm-up started.”

Fimpong, who was born in Ghana’s capital city, Accra, is yet to play for the Black Stars and he never featured for the West African country’s youth national teams.

“I didn’t feel any excitement as if I was getting ready for the same match as ever. And yet you can’t play football against Cristiano Ronaldo everyday,” he added.

“This time he proved why he is one of the best in the world.”

Ferencvaros are set to face Barcelona in a Champions League match on Wednesday night and Frimpong is most likely to be up against Argentine football icon Messi.
