There were only two 2020-21 DStv Premiership matches on Sunday but both games conjured a winner following four draws in all four of Saturday’s matches scattered across South Africa.
Baroka FC returned to winning ways with a 2-1 come from behind win over 10-man Chippa United at Peter Mokaba Stadium.
Goals from Evidence Makgopa and Richard Mbulu secured all three points for Bakgaga as they moved up to third spot on the league standings. Chippa, who had Mduduzi Sibeko sent off late on, dropped down to 12th as a result.
The Chilli Boys hit the front through a fine Sandile Mthethwa finish, but were punished for poor defending from two set-pieces within the space of 10 second-half minutes as Baroka held on for all three points.
Stellenbosch FC condemned TS Galaxy to their first defeat of the season at the same time at Mbombela Stadium.
Stanley Dimgba, who joined Stellies from Nigerian giants Enyimba last month, scored the only goal of the game as Stellies moved up to eighth spot on the league standings, a point and place above the Rockets.
There is only one match scheduled for the coming week with Kaizer Chiefs to host Black Leopards at FNB Stadium on Tuesday evening. The MTN8 final between Bloemfontein Celtic and Mamelodi Sundowns is set to take place at Moses Mabhida Stadium next Saturday.
