According to Calciomercato, Serie A giants Napoli will not be selling Algerian left-back Faouzi Ghoulam in the January transfer window.
The 29-year-old French-born player has seen the past three years of his career ravaged by injury – starting with the rupturing of his anterior cruciate ligament in a UEFA Champions League match against Manchester City in November 2017.
He has made four Serie A appearances this season, and featured in just 40 league games since the start of the 2017-18 campaign.
With Ghoulam set to both enter the last 18 months of his contract with Napoli and turn 30 in the early weeks of 2021, speculation has been rife that the Algerian international could be sold in the upcoming January transfer window.
However, Italian media reports, including those in Corriere dello Sport, insist that Napoli manager Gennaro Gattuso wants to keep Ghoulam in the squad, as he could prove a key player in the busy months to come.
