Cape Town City and SuperSport United ended the year on a high with wins in Saturday’s 2020-21 DStv Premiership action.

The Citizens beat TS Galaxy 3-2 at Cape Town Stadium to move up to fourth spot on the league standings. All five goals came in the first half with Bradley Ralani, Mduduzi Mdantsane and Tashreeq Morris on target for the hosts while Mxolosi Macuphu bagged a double for the visitors.

SuperSport are set to end the year in third following a 3-1 win over Baroka FC in Polokwane. Bradley Grobler (two) and Thamsanqa Gabuza found the back of the net for Matsatsantsa who had scored an own goal through Grant Kekana.

Kaizer Chiefs’ winless run in the league stretched to six matches as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Bloemfontein Celtic at FNB Stadium in Soweto. Siwelele levelled matters through Tumelo Mangweni following Anthony Agay’s opener.

Both Golden Arrows and Mamelodi Sundowns remain unbeaten in the DStv Premiership this season after they played to a 1-1 draw at Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Mothobi Mvala opened the scoring for the defending champions before Michael Gumede pulled the two teams level.

In Friday’s only game, bottom-placed Maritzburg United were held to a 2-2 draw by Stellenbosch FC. The action resumes on Sunday with Black Leopards to host high-flying Swallows FC while Chippa United will take on AmaZulu in Durban.
